Invisalign® gives you the noticeable results you want without the bars and brackets. Using a carefully-planned series of clear aligners, Invisalign gently and gradually moves your teeth to perfect positions. Just pop in a new aligner every couple of weeks, and you’ll show off a new smile in no time! The best part is that the aligners are practically invisible, so no one even has to know you’re wearing them.
Invisalign is an excellent alternative to metal braces for many patients, but unfortunately, not all dental patients are well-suited to the treatment.
Younger patients, for example, should not have Invisalign. Before age 12, the jaw is still growing, and the treatment is not recommended. In addition, Invisalign requires discipline and cooperation from the patient. Unlike metal braces, clear aligners are removed periodically so that you can eat or drink, and patients need to be responsible enough to care for the aligners and keep track of them. In addition, your Invisalign plan includes a series of aligners that the patient must keep track of and replace as necessary.
Finally, Invisalign isn’t suitable for patients with significant bit issues, such as a severe under or overbite. The aligners are effective at shifting the teeth but cannot fix a severely misaligned bite. These issues typically need more comprehensive orthodontic care.
